History of Yarra Burn
Nestled below the impressive Mount Donna Buang in the Warburton Ranges, Yarra Burn benefits from the cool breezes that sweep over the mountain peaks, and the soothing afternoon sun which gently warms the valley. Together they influence an ideal cool climate for viticulture.
Established in 1975 by David and Christine Fyffe, the Yarra Burn winery is situated near the small rural town of Yarra Junction, just sixty kilometres north of Melbourne. The Burgundian climatic conditions allow Yarra Burn to produce wines of distinctive varietal character, with the delicacy, elegance and intensity expected from the Yarra Valley.
Amongst this picturesque setting of rugged mountain ranges and immaculate vineyards is the rustic Yarra Burn restaurant, built from convict-hewn bluestone slabs dating back to 1860. Fabulous country fare and award winning wines can be enjoyed, while relaxing next to a huge blazing fire in winter, while the thick stone walls provide a welcome escape from the summer sun. Wine tastings can be organised both at the cellar door or at your conference.
The Yarra Burn winery was acquired by BRL Hardy in August 1995 and continues to be the source of wines of great individuality and character. The BRL Hardy Wines Company has a strong commitment to the Yarra Valley and Yarra Burn will continue to develop a reputation for excellence.
Visits
The Summit Group has made special arrangements for private winery visits for groups from 10 to 80 people. Call us for dates, times and tasting options. The winery is only 40 minutes drive from The Country Place and an hour and a half from Flowerdale Estate.

Winemaker's Dinners with The Summit Group
Ask us for details of the very popular Yarra Burn Winemaker's Dinners at one of our Venues. These dinners feature 6 different wines introduced by an experienced Yarra Burn Winemaker, and complemented by a very special 5 course menu.
28 days advance booking required. Minimum of 20.
Allow 3-4 hours for the dinner. Cost: additional $71.50 per person including wines.
